This and that

Time is a bit of a rush at the mo. I'm getting up at 5:40 to go to work, finishing work going around Dad's for dinner then taking him to the hospital to see Mum (no good news) arriving home at 8ish most evenings. I haven't done much photowise lately but you may get some this weekend.

Anyway, Clive Farrell has plans to build a Butterfly World attraction by the M25 at St Albans. Clive plans to build the largest Butterfly house in the world but phase one, which is due to start in 2008, will see 26 acres of restored natural habitat for UK Butterflies.

The results of the British Waterways’ fourth National Waterway Wildlife Survey has just been annouced. I know this since it featured heavily on the radio this morning. Apparently they had over 300 Kingfisher sightings. Apparently British Waterways' Ecologist were particularly pleased since Kingfishers are a good measure of water quality, they were also pleased to have a number of sightings from urban connobations.

What did surprise me was that Kingfishers were the 4th most reported species after Mallards, Swans and Herons but ahead of Coots and Moorhens.
