Local News

It's very remiss of me not to have mentioned this before.

The second runway that BAA proposed for Stansted is now history! The coalition government announced it would refuse permission for new runways and BAA have withdrawn their proposals.

Under BAA's proposal 6 entire ancient woodlands would have been destroyed and the environmental impact on Hatfield Forest would have been enormous.

Good news!

Phew - this is good news indeed! At least its a stay of execution for the woodlands and forest - long may it last!

Watch this space - having
announced no extra runways for Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted...what will the Condems actually do about air ports. I am on full alert against any night flight increase ( actually would like less) and mixed mode being introduced ( as against what makes life under a flight path liveable - I should know! runway alternation) for Heathrow....what will they suggest - gosh hope its no expansion at Lydd or anywhere else. A better Heathrow not bigger!
