Local Birding

Well I couldn't decide what to do and where to go so I ended up at Fisher's Green.

As I approached the hide with the feeders a Dunnock was busily displaying to a nearby female.

The feeders were a tadge busy!

So I headed to Rye Meads.

Lots of birds singing and they were all very active chasing off potential invaders of their territory.

From Draper hide there were pairs of Snipe and Oystercatcher

A record shot of an Oystercatcher.

Juvenile Gull

I popped into Kingfisher and hide and a Kingfisher was showing. Also this teal.

There were quite a few Chiffchaffs singing (saw two) and the numbers of Cetti's grows each year. Saw my first small tortoiseshell butterfly of the year.

Very nice day.

Nice variety of birds and I love this time of the year when they're so vocal and busy.

The blue tit in the 2nd picture looks as though it's launching itself through space... nice one :D
