Hardwick Hall

We went to Chesterfield this morning, nice market.

For me it was all about

787, St Mary and All Saints, Chesterfield

Then onto Hardwick Hall

Hardwick was the home of Bess of Hardwick, she lived in the 16th century and built loads of houses (Chatsworth was one of hers - although now much changed) and had 4 marriages and founded a few dynasties. A remarkable woman.

What an amazing place! And I love all that statutory.. Another "must visit" in my book!

And the final scene looks so cosy - which is strange given the size of the room!!

Some beautiful pieces and pics there!

Wow, great stuff. Like Tricia, I love the statutory, particularly the guy playing the pipe. I can see him in my garden, lol. That bedroom is enough to make one swoon as well.
