Bateman's, Bodiam and Smallhythe

Well the sun was out !! Woo hoo.

And a church I've tried to get into many times....

799 The Assumption of the Blessed Mary and St Nicholas

And nearby Bateman's the home of Rudyard Kipling. A house and garden you can imagine owning.

Lots of butterflies about

Any one know what this is....

Lunch was Lemon Drizzle Cake and Chocolate cake ;)

And so to Bodiam. Which had suffered a power cut.

And so to Smallhythe, with a quick detour to Chapel Down winery ;), a small National Trust property that was once the home of the actress Ellen Terry.

All finished off with Vanilla Ice Cream!

What lovely places you are visiting :) The butterfly you are querying is, I think, a Small Copper. Love the wood carvings in the church and the smiley face in the hedge. Wonderful pics, Pete.
