Bearded Tits and a concert.

OK so you wake up on a Sunday morning, it's freezing cold and get up at 6AM.... yes mad!

We arrived at Marble Arch just before 8 and thankfully Pret A Manger was open! So cup of tea and Porridge!

As we headed out into Hyde Park it started to snow..... the paths were icy and it was bitter! But we had a mission ..... yep twitching Bearded Tits...... we arrived at the appointed place they were showing! Bins up for all of 5 seconds to watch them feed ..... now there was another target bird but I turned to Trish and said would you rather go and have a cup of tea? The response was yes!

The Beardies were ringed at Rye Meads!! Why they ended up at Hyde Park..... there are lots of lovely reeds at Rye Meads but was lovely to see them....

Anyway back across Hyde Park and down Oxford Street (Blue Tit in one of the small trees!) and in to the Cavendish Square branch of Pret for a cuppa and a read. Deciding we might have overstayed our welcome we popped into the Pret by Wigmore Hall!

The concert was the Carducci String Quartet performing
Haydn - String Quartet in G minor Op 74 no 3 'Rider'
Debussy - String Quartet in G minor Op 10

and very pleasant it was too.

Been snowing all day but main roads seem OK.

and before you ask the camera was left in the pocket!
