Walking in the footsteps of our Ancestors

US Journalist Paul Salopek is going to spend the next seven years walking from Ethiopia to South America. The same journey as our ancestors took 50,000-70,000 years ago.

He is undertaking the journey to see how small groups of hunter gatherers colonized the world.

Salopek won't be walking every day. Some places he intends to stay for weeks or months other he'll pass straight through.

If you want to follow Salopek there is a website where you can track his journey. You can also sign up for email updates. And he's on twitter as @PaulSalopek

Salopek won't be on his own he'll be joined from time to time by his wife who is an artist.
