A musical Monday

Well I was off today for a concert. We were up early and headed to London, the idea was to take some pictures around St Paul's cathedral.

It was BITTERLY cold and there was snow trying to fall. Spring?? Spring?? Oh please come quick!

We nipped into Pret for Porridge and a cuppa!

Amusingly there were two Mallards in St Paul's churchyard!

St Mary, Aldermary

a fan vault is unusual in a parish church. The likes of Sherborne were once monastries

The sand is to with lent.

St Bride's Fleet Street

At this point the snow was horizontal so we headed to John Lewis and Selfridges !

We had lunch in Pret. The pea and ham soup was excellent.

The concert was the Arcanto Quartet playing

Haydn String Quartet in B minor Op 64 No 2
Brahms String Quartet in Bb Op 67

very pleasant it was too.

Coming out it was still freezing!

I should think the porridge and soup were very welcome on a day like this Pete. Nice selection of photos.

London looks freezing Pete - you were brave to face the elements :) The church photos are lovely. Enjoyed the photos from Wimpole Hall too :)
