In the footsteps of the Emperors

With the temperature rumoured to be getting close to 70 we finally went to the Colosseum. We had been walking past it twice a day!

The horses were being fed...

And so on to the Forum!

Now whilst everyone else was admiring the glory that was Rome Trish and I were getting distracted....

Ooh Lizards! Italian Wall Lizard I think!?

Bit of Lizard porn!

But we had been told to look out for a particular bird I saw two bird fly down and saw a flash of Red which attracted me but it wasn't the bird with red that made us both happy....

Blue Rock Thrush .... lifer!!

The bird that attracted my attention was a Black Redstart

That Thrush again!

And so on the Capitoline Museums....

The Basilica of San Ambrogio E Carlo

And a bit of walking!
