A Day in Perugia

And so we come to Thursday and the forecast for the next two days was  poor. It was raining early but when we left the hotel it was just a few spots in the air but it was dull and overcast. First stop.

The Duomo of San Rufino

The next stop was the Palazzo dei Priori it has had a number of different uses.
You've seen these steps before they enter the Sala dei Notari (the Lawyer's meeting Hall)

This is the entrance to the Collegio del Cambio (Guild of Moneychangers)

There are no photos allowed in here LATER I had the bright idea of buying some postcards and scanning them..... (yes if I was really bright I'd have bought some in Assisi!)

Sandrine's coffe shop/bar/cake shop looks appetizing eh? We had bought a few nibbles and ate in the hotel earlier but as Trish fancied a proper coffee.....

Street musician cowering from the rain. It was no more than very light drizzle and even Trish didn't put her umbrella up.

The Fontana Maggiore

Behind this door is Il Collegio della Mercanzia (Merchant's guild)

That door again the entrance to the Galleria Nazionale dell'Umbria

The museum is superb and not being able to take photos was a god send really as you just looked at the art. I then had my brain wave!

We had lunch at the Ristorante de Sole. This was the view.

Note wine

View from outside

And we went in and the nice lady let us try some and well we bought some to eat later....

You will note blue sky appearing

Another good day!
