Thursday Music

I was off today to see a concert at LSO St Lukes......

Whilst waiting for Trish to arrive.....

And into Southwark Cathedral

Bunhill Graveyard

Trish couldn't find any Squirrels....

and so into St Luke's

The concert was to see the young French pianist Lise de la Salle play

Brahms

  • Andante ma moderato from String Sextet No 1 Op 18 - Theme and variations in D minor(piano transcription)
  • Rhapsody No 1 in B Minor
  • Rhapsody No 2 in G Minor

Ravel

  • Gaspard de La nuit

Now curiously in advance of the concert I would have expected to prefer the Brahms but in reality it was the Ravel enthralled me. This was a fascinating piece to listen to full of imagery.

Agree about music choice.. today the Ravel appealed far more tan Brahms..

ooooooh, skulls and wings. Very nice. Another lovely cathedral. You have so many over there. I love the "danger" sign.
