Venice Day 4 - Torcello & Murano

So another day of island hopping.... the light was a tadge better, light cloud as opposed to dull cloud!!

So off to Torcello. It is the oldest continually occupied region of Venice and was once the most populpus. Today it is very sparsely populated due to malaria. It has a population of 10 including a priest.

These were in the gardens where we stopped for a coffee

The cathedral

Atilla the Huns throne (well probably an old bishop's throne)

Whoa hang on hang on is that BLUE SKY FINALLY !!!!

You can tell it is getting warmer.... a lizard!!

The view for lunch!

There is a large pond / small lake near the sea front and since we had walked past a pair of Garganey had appeared!!

The view from the boat as we headed to Murano!

Murano is famed for its glass making.

Murano's cathedral.

I love the Mickey Mouse on this boat!

And back to Venice
