Long Melford Church and Hall, with 2 Painted Ladies and a Hummingbird Hawkmoth

I was heading up the M11 and intending to head to Houghton Mill but just before Junction 9 the 30mph speed limits started flashing so I turned off.... the logical place would be Ickworth but I was there Saturday so went to Long Melford.....

I was early so headed to the lovely church of Holy Trinity.

The church is really stunning.... medieval glass, brasses and monuments.

The Hare Window

I strolled outside to reach the separate Lady Chapel. The flowers were looking stunning.

What's that ? A Painted Lady! (actually there were 2!)

WOAH!! Hummingbird Hawkmoth

into the Lady Chapel. Which I think is unique for having a separate Lady Chapel.

Now if you are ever going to bury me can I suggest lots of wild flowers like these? None of that shop bought nonsense.

So to Melford Hall for Lunch.

A lovely day in the part of the world I love.
